Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn (1924–2009) represents an important architectural perspective within postwar Europe. His approach may appear simple, but the subtle approach conceals precise tectonic answers to questions of form, structure, proportion, and materiality, yielding powerful physical presence and truly unique experience of space. Sverre Fehn Architecture is a reference book for the work of this Pritzker Prize-winner and his art of constructing spaces. With new drawings, new photographs by Stefano Graziani, and several texts by contemporary architects, the publication is a collection of Fehn’s most substantial and radical built and unbuilt projects, presented from the “inside of his architecture,” to create new insight into his practice.

Neven Fuchs is an architect based in Oslo and professor emeritus at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. He is a graduate of Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He worked at Alvar Aalto’s office in Helsinki and was a member of International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design under the direction of Giancarlo De Carlo and Team 10, in Urbino and Siena. In 1983 he moved to Oslo and served as a teaching assistant to Sverre Fehn at the Oslo School of Architecture. Fuchs has led the master studio “Space & Technique,” concerned with exploring the ideas about architectonic space. Sometimes these ideas are tested in scale 1:1, as in the case of Inverted House, built on island of Hokkaido, together with Raphael Zuber and AHO team, after winning the first prize in a Japanese LIXIL competition.

Stefano Graziani currently teaches photography at Università luav di Venezia (IUAV) in Venice as well as at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. Active at the crossroads of photography, art, and architecture, Graziani contributes with an unconventional voice to the contemporary artistic and architectural discourse. His work has been exhibited internationally by institutions such as Fondazione Prada in Milan, the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Chicago Architecture Biennial, and the European Art Biennial Manifesta. He is extensively published in publications such as: Questioning Pictures (Fondazione Prada, Milano, 2017); Nature Morte, Fictions and Excerpts, (Galleria Mazzoli, Modena, 2016); Fruits and Fireworks, (a+m bookstore, 2016). Graziani’s work is in public and private collections such as  Canadian Center for Architecture, Montreal; Fondazione Prada, Milan; Maxxi, Rome; and Fondazione Fotografia, Modena. He collaborates with architectural offices, like Baukuh, Christ & Gantenbein, Office KGDVS, Piovene Fabi, Studio Mumbai, and 51N4E.

Aleksandra Ognjanov is an architect working as teaching assistant and researcher at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. She holds master’s degrees from the School of Architecture in Oslo and fine arts degree from the University of Belgrade. She worked at the office of Valerio Olgiati in Flims, Switzerland.
